What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a site places on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit. It holds a short string of characters that lets our site recognise your device on later pages and on later visits. A cookie cannot read the rest of your device and does not carry viruses.
Where this policy says cookies, we also mean technologies that do a comparable job: local storage in your browser, pixels and tags in pages and e-mails, and software development kits in any app version of our site.
We use them for four broad reasons:
- We keep your session running, so that you stay signed in as you move between the lobby, the cashier and your account pages.
- We keep accounts and our systems secure, which includes spotting unusual sign-in patterns and blocking automated abuse.
- We remember settings such as your language, your display options and whether you have already closed a message.
- We look at how pages perform and where people get stuck, so that we can fix problems.
Strictly necessary cookies are set as soon as you open the site, because the site cannot work without them. Everything else is set only after you agree through the cookie notice, and you can change or withdraw that agreement whenever you like.
The categories of cookies we use
The cookie notice on the site groups cookies into the four categories below. You can accept or refuse each category separately, apart from the strictly necessary group.
Strictly necessary
These make the site work and keep it safe. They remember that you have signed in, hold your cashier session together while a deposit or withdrawal is being processed, spread traffic across our servers and store your cookie choices so you are not asked on every page. Without them you cannot log in, play or use your account.
Performance and analytics
These tell us, in aggregate, which pages are opened, how quickly they load and where errors appear. We use them to find broken journeys, such as a registration or verification step that fails on one browser, and to decide what to repair first.
Functionality
These remember choices so that you do not set them again: your language and display preferences, your preferred view of the game lobby, and chat details so a support conversation can carry on where it left off.
Marketing
These measure our own advertising and limit how often you see the same message, for example by recording that you arrived from a campaign or closed a banner. If you have self-excluded or asked us to stop sending marketing, we do not use these cookies to target you.
| Category | Typical purpose | Set without consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in, cashier session, security, saving cookie choices | Yes |
| Performance and analytics | Page speed, error reporting, aggregate journey data | No |
| Functionality | Language, display settings, live chat continuity | No |
| Marketing | Measuring our own adverts, capping repeat messages | No |
How long cookies last and who sets them
Session cookies last only as long as your visit and are removed when you close the browser. Persistent cookies stay for a set period so the site can recognise your device next time. The periods differ by purpose and are shown beside each category in the cookie notice.
Some cookies are set by us and read only on our own site. Others are set by the providers that supply parts of the service, such as payment processing, game content, fraud screening, site measurement and live chat. We do not name them here because they change; the current list, with the purpose of each, is shown in the cookie notice.
How to manage cookies
There are two places to control cookies: our cookie notice and your own browser.
In the cookie notice on this site
- Open the cookie settings control, which is kept in the footer of every page.
- Switch each optional category on or off and confirm your choice.
- Set your choice again on any other device you play from, because it applies only to the browser and device you are using at the time.
In your browser
Every major browser lets you see, block or delete cookies. The controls usually sit under privacy or security settings, and the wording differs between browsers and versions, so the help pages built into your browser give the current steps. Most browsers offer the following options.
- You can delete cookies that are already stored, either in one go or one at a time.
- You can block all cookies, or only those set by parties other than the site you are on.
- You can clear cookies automatically each time you close the browser.
- You can browse in a private window, which clears cookies when the window is closed.
What happens if you block cookies
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off without affecting basic use of the site. If you block cookies in your browser, the site may not work fully and in some cases may not work at all.
- You may be unable to sign in, or you may be signed out as soon as you open a new page.
- Deposits and withdrawals may fail part-way through, because the cashier cannot hold your session together.
- Document uploads for verification may not complete.
- Settings such as deposit limits, session reminders and time-outs may not display correctly, although any limit already on your account still applies on our systems.
- Live chat may not open, or a conversation may not carry across pages.
Changes to this policy and how to reach us
We update this policy when the cookies we use change, or when a section can be made clearer. The version shown on this page is always the current one, with the date it last changed.
If you have a question about cookies, want to know more about a category or would like help changing your settings, e-mail us at support@casino-mrsloty.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Questions about personal data more generally, including requests about your own data, can be sent to privacy@casino-mrsloty.co.uk.
When you write to us about a cookie problem, please tell us which device and browser you are using so that we can check the behaviour you are seeing. We hold a gaming licence and verify accounts, so we may need to confirm your identity before discussing anything specific to your account.
